Aamir Khan's Ex Wife Reena Dutta's Father Dies, Lagaan Actor Pays Last Respect With His Mother

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's ex-wife Reena Dutta's father passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday, October 2. The cause of his death remains unknown. She co-produced the film Lagaan (2001) and appeared in the song Papa Kehte Hai from the 1988 movie Qayamat se Qayamat Tak, which starred Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla. Aamir Khan paid his last respects by visiting Reena's home. Several videos and pictures from outside her residence in Mumbai have since gone viral on social media.

In the photos and videos, Aamir Khan was spotted leaving Reena's residence in Mumbai. He places his hand on his chest as a mark of respect. The actor donned a red and white kurta paired with a brown dhoti. 

Earlier today, Aamir's mother, Zeenat Hussain, also visited Reena to support her during this challenging time. There have been no updates regarding the cause of death or other details.

Reena Dutta and Aamir Khan's relationship

Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta in a private ceremony on April 18, 1986. The couple remained married for 16 years before separating in 2002, and they have a son named Junaid Khan and a daughter named Ira Khan.

Reports indicate that Aamir married Reena while working on the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, although their relationship began a year earlier when he was 20 and she was 18. 

Despite their affection for each other, their families opposed the marriage due to their differing backgrounds. At the age of 21, Aamir made the bold decision to marry Reena in court and returned home quietly. When Reena's family eventually found out, they were taken aback, particularly her father, who became ill upon learning the news. However, later in the years, things got sorted out between the two families and shared good relations even after the divorce. In 2005, Aamir married Kiran Rao, but they announced their separation in 2021. Despite this, they have maintained a strong friendship and continue to co-parent their son, Azad.
