Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui to be felicitated at Cardiff Film Festival

From his first appearance as a junior artist in Bollywood, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has evolved into a sophisticated actor and has carved a niche for himself in the industry. The actor is well known for his role as gangster Ganesh Gaitonde in the popular Netflix series Sacred Games. He has also delivered some memorable performances in films like Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur, Mom, Badlapur, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Raees among others.

International recognition for Nawazuddin Siddiqui
For his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, Cardiff International Film Festival has decided to honour the actor this year with the Golden Dragon Award. The Golden Dragon Award is conferred on artists who have shown exceptional talent and have contributed to the world of cinema. On hearing the news, Nawazuddin Siddiqui expressed his gratitude by extending his best wishes to all the films that will be showcased at the Cardiff International Film Festival.The actor also said that he is looking forward to attending the festival which will be held from October 24 to 27 at Cardiff Bay, Wales.
Rahil Abbas, founder at the Cardiff International Film Festival confirmed the news as he called Nawazuddin their special guest for this year. The jury at this fest include film maker Anurag Kashyap and actor Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya among other notable artists from all over the world. Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be felicitated on October 27 at the historic Pierhead Building where the Cardiff International Film Festival is scheduled to be held.

Through the years, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has displayed his superlative acting skills as he has impressed the audience and his fans with every film. Last year, the actor won the prestigious Asia Pacific Screen Award for his performance as the famous Indo-Pakistani writer Saadat Hasan Manto in Nandita Das' 'Manto'. The Golden Dragon Award will be another feather in Nawazuddin Siddiqui's cap.

Nawazuddin was last seen in popular web series Sacred Games in its second season. The actor played Gaitonde, a gangster, in the series. Nawazuddin will next be seen in Bole Chudiyan, which marks the directorial debut of his brother Shamas Nawab Siddiqui and is produced under the banner Woodpecker Movies. He has been recently promoting his latest movie Motichoor Chaknachoor, a comedy drama directed by Debamitra Biswal.
