Aditi Rao Hydari Spills The Beans About How Fiancee Siddharth Proposed To Her

Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth, who have dated for years, got engaged earlier this year in March. The couple announced the news through a joint Instagram post and revealed that they exchanged the rings in an intimate ceremony at a temple. While their fans are awaiting the news of their wedding, the couple, in a recent interview, spill the beans about the dreamy proposal.

How did Siddharth propose to Aditi Rao Hydari?

In a conversation with Vogue India, Aditi and Siddharth answered the million-dollar question about the proposal. Aditi, who is a tough cookie to be impressed, was swayed by Siddharth at the very first meeting on the sets of Maha Samudram (2021). The actress said, "He walked in and said, ‘Hello, beautiful girl’. Usually, when someone says something like this, it does not work. But he was being genuine. By the end of the day, he had me and pretty much everyone on the set in splits. He also ensured that my team and I had ghee idlis whipped up by his cook every day for the rest of the shoot.”

Opening up about how Siddharth proposed to her, Aditi said that for over a year, he would often get down on his knees but fiddle with his shoelaces instead. This became a running joke between the two for over a year. However, one fine day he did get down on his knee but this time to propose to him.

“I was closest to my nani, who passed away a few years ago,” Hydari says. “She started a school in Hyderabad. One day, Siddarth asked me if he could see it, knowing full well how close I had been to her.” Earlier this March, the couple travelled there together. The Indian 2 actor wanted to get to the exact location where she had spent time as a child and then, "He got down on his knee and I asked him, ‘Now what have you lost? Whose shoelaces are open?’ He kept saying, ‘Addu, listen to me’. And then he proposed. He said he wanted to bring me to my favourite childhood place, one with my grandmother’s blessings.”

When will Siddharth and Aditi Rao Hydari tie the know?

During the Galatta Golden Stars event, Siddharth was asked about wedding plans, he revealed that it depends on the elders in their family. It is not like a shooting date which they can decide on their own. "The wedding date will depend on the elders (of the family) and what they say. It isn’t like a shooting date I can decide on, it’s a lifetime date. It will happen at the right time once they decide,” Siddharth concluded.
