The 33-year-old actor started his career as a VJ and further went ahead by featuring in supporting roles. Aditya Roy Kapoor finally got his break in Aashiqui 2. In an interview with a leading daily, the Aashiqui 2 actor also mentioned that an actor goes out of job once the film is wrapped up.

The Fitoor actor said that an actor when he is off the film he is out of job. He goes from job to job. Further, he said that is why acting is an unsure profession and you cannot have a road map as an actor. Talking about the movies, Aditya's debut film, Aashiqui 2 was a blockbuster hit at the box office. However, after he made his debut in 2013, Aditya had to face many trials and tribulations in his filmy career. Daawat-E-Ishq was a romantic comedy-drama. The movie was directed by Habib Faizal and the movie also had Parineeti Chopra in the lead role. The movie was produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The soundtrack of the movie was composed by Sajid-Wajid. Daawat-E-Ishq movie's total box office collection was Rs 25,58,00,000. The movie did do well at the box office and was a flop.

Fitoor (2016)
Fitoor released in 2016 featured Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in the prominent roles. The movie was directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The storyline was a modern adaptation of Charles Dickens' 'Great Expectations'. The story of the movie revolves around a poor yet talented boy falls in love with a girl from an affluent family. The story was not much appreciated by the critics or the audiences and the total box office collection of the movie was also Rs.16,85,75,000. The movie was a super flop at the box office.

Ok Jaanu (2017)
Ok Jaanu is a romantic drama directed by Shaad Ali. The story and screenplay were written by Mani Ratnam. The movie was produced by Mani Ratnam and Karan Johar under their banners Madras Talkies and Dharma Productions. Ok Jaanu was a remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil movie O Kadhal Kanmani, which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon. The total box office collection of the movie was Rs. 21,32,00,000. The story and the screenplay failed to impress the fans and the critics.
