A few days back, reports surfaced that Kriti Kharbanda who is currently basking the success of Housefull 4, was asked to exit Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre due to her 'tantrums', and her team's mismanagement of dates. Recently, a leading entertainment portal suggests that now producer Anand Pandit is in talks with Maniknarika actress Ankita Lokhande to cast her in the film. Reportedly, Lokhande loved the story idea and gave a verbal nod. However, one cannot be sure as no contract has yet been signed. For the uninitiated, this will be the Pavitra Rishta actress' third Bollywood film, as she will next be seen in Baaghi 3 playing the role of Riteish Deshmukh's love interest.

Ankita Lokhande started her acting career from the television show Pavitra Rishta. The show started airing in 2009. She worked with Ekta Kapoor for this television series. While working for the series, she fell in love with her co-actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Ankita Lokhande played the role of a young Marathi woman named Archana. She made her Bollywood debut in Kangana Ranaut’s film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Playing the role of Jhalkari Bai in the film, she received critical acclaim for her performance in the movie. She portrayed the character of Jhalkari Bai, a fierce woman warrior who used to disguise as Rani Laxmibai and fight with the enemies.

The upcoming movie, which is titled Chehre, is helmed by Rumi Jaffery and is produced by Anand Pandit. The film also stars actors like Emraan Hashmi, Rhea Chakraborty, and Annu Kapoor. The film is expected to release on February 21, 2020
