Aishwarya Rai-Amitabh Bachchan Memes: The Bachchan family has regularly made headlines be it because of their turbulent personal lives or public appearances. Most recently, Jaya Bachchan demanded an apology from Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar after a heated exchange of words between them. The veteran actress-turned-politician objected to the tone used by the Chair. This comes just days after the actress objected to being addressed as 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' by the chairman.

Jaya Bachchan often finds herself at the centre of trolling by social media users. Her latest row at the Rajya Sabha was no exception either. After the actress demanded an apology from the Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar, netizens took it as an opportunity to make jokes about her personal life. The actress, who was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, has a reputation for being uptight and worked up in front of the media. This led to a string of memes based on how her daughter-in-law - Aishwarya Rai and husband Amitabh Bachchan might be ‘dealing’ with her at home. When Jaya Bachchan took offence at being addressed by her husband's name 

Jaya Bachchan is known to not mince her words while speaking in public. Recently, she was addressing members of the Upper House in the Parliament when Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh Narayan Singh addressed her while using her husband Amitabh Bachchan's name. Seemingly irked by it, Jaya made it an issue about her identity and women's accomplishments.

After  Harivansh Narayan Singh called Jaya Bachchan 'Srimati Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' in front of the House, she took a moment to remind everyone that she had an identity of her own too. "Sir, sirf Jaya Bachchan bolte to kaafi hojata (It would’ve been enough to call me Jaya Bachchan).” Narayan then pointed out that her name was officially registered as called out by him.

Jaya went out to add, “Ye jo hain kuch naya tarika hain ki mahilaayen apni pati ke naam se jaani jaye. Unka koi astitva nahi. Unki koi upalabdh hi nahi hain, apne mein aur astitva nahi hain. Ye jo naya shuru hua hain, I just…(Some new method has emerged that women have to be known by their husbands’ names. Women have no identity. They have no achievements, no identity of their own. This new thing, I just…). The issue went viral on social media with the actress addressing herself as ‘Jay Amitabh Bachchan’ in the following session of the Parliament as a joke.
