Ajay Devgn Planning An Indiana Jones Inspired Movie Like SS Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu?

Ajay Devgn, who was last seen in the romantic drama Aurn Mein Kahan Dum Tha, is in talks to star in director Jagan Shakti's action-adventure film. Reportedly, this upcoming project will be along the lines of Indiana Jones. The actor is apparently very excited about the project, which could roll before the year's end.

What is known about this action film starring Ajay Devgn?

According to a report in Mid-Day, the film with Ajaye Dvgn will be a big-budget production featuring the Singham star Devgn as an adventurer, much like character essayed by Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones franchise. A source in the know stated, "The script for the Luv Ranjan film is still in progress. It will be a big-budget production featuring Ajay Devgn as an adventurer. The filmmakers aim to create something akin to the Indiana Jones franchise. Ajay is excited about the concept, as it is an unexplored genre for him."

The source added, “The story will have historical significance and will be steeped in folklore and mythology. The film, heavy on VFX, is expected to go on floors by December 2024."

Interestingly, SS Rajamouli's upcoming film with Mahesh Babu is also a jungle-set action-adventure film. If Ajay is planning the film in the same genre, it will be interesting to see how the two movies stand out in their own way. Ajay has previously worked with Rajamouli in RRR.

What Rajamouli said about his vision for SSMB29 
 

Talking about his upcoming project SSMB29, Rajamouli had said, "I always wanted to do a globe-trotting film like Indiana Jones or the world of Dan Brown's books. My father is currently sketching a film on the adventurous thematic genre. We have not yet finalised the script, but the work is underway."

Furthermore, revealing more about the film, the Baahubali director added, "My next film with Mahesh Babu will be a globetrotting action adventure. It’s going to be a kind of James Bond or Indiana Jones film with Indian roots."
