Ajay Devgn starrer 'Maidaan' gearing up to resume shoot in November?

Recently, a report, published by a news portal, stated that makers of Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan have dismantled long-standing set of football arena, as Mumbai rains arrived in June. reports furr ded that unit of Amit Ravindernath Sharma-directorial venture will have to patiently wait out monsoon and reconstruction of set before team can report to work in vember. report also speculated that upcoming film will take an August 2021 release.

Interestingly, report stated that though state government permitted resumption of shoots on May 31, Ajay Devgn, Amit Sharma and Boney Kapoor h opined that returning to set in June would be impractical. report reasoned that makers thought y would have to call time once monsoon arrived. report said that rains would destroy set completely, so, y decided to pull it down and have it built from scratch in October.

report also revealed that reconstructing set will be an ditional expense as makers may have to level soil that will be uneven after rains. Taking se factors into consideration, y are planning to begin shoot in vember. report also mentioned that due to se reasons, makers pushed release from December 2020 to August 13, 2021. report ted that eight-month delay will spell losses for makers, as y have to pay interest for ditional period.

set of Maidaan was modelled on an international stium. Reportedly, it was built earlier this year in western suburbs to serve as location for eight matches that will be depicted in sports drama. After coronavirus-induced lockdown in March, set h been lying unused.

Apart from Ajay Devgn, film will also feature Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and well kwn Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. Ajay Devgn will essay Syed Abdul Rahim, who served as coach and manr of Indian football team from 1950 until his death in 1963. Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quras and Ritesh Shah respectively.
