Akshay Kumar set to feature in these five upcoming movies

Akshay Kumar continues to be one of the most entertaining actors for his fans. His next film, Housefull 4 to be released across theatres in India will be the comedy Housefull 4. He is also set to feature in several other upcoming movies this year and the next. Here are five films that will star the popular actor in a lead role.

Housefull 4

Housefull 4 will be the fourth entry in the popular comedy franchise, Housefull. The movie is set to release on October 26, 2019. Directed by Farhad Samji, the movie will be a comical tale of romance and reincarnation. Alongside Akshay Kumar, the movie will also star other popular actors in leading roles. The other members of the lead cast include Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and Kriti Kharbanda.

Good Newwz

Another romantic comedy Good Newwz starring Akshay Kumar is directed by Raj Mehta and is set to release on December 27, 2019. The movie will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead and the rising popular star Diljit Dosanjh. The movie will be a humorous tale about a couple trying out in vitro fertilisation. Akshay Kumar is also a producer for the film alongside Karan Johar.

Sooryavanshi

Sooryavanshi is directed by acclaimed director Rohit Shetty and is slated to release on March 27, 2020. The movie will be an action film about a cop and is predicted to be the costliest cop film ever made in Bollywood. Akshay will play the role of DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, who will be the chief of the anti-terrorism squad. Katrina Kaif will play the female lead in the film and will be working with Akshay for the first time after nearly a decade.

Laxmmi Bomb

Laxmmi Bomb will be a horror-comedy movie and is a remake of the Tamil movie, Muni 2: Kanchana. Akshay will play the role of a cowardly man who is afraid of the supernatural. After his character goes to a graveyard, he gets possessed by the spirit of a transgender woman named Laxmmi. The movie will then be about Laxmmi's quest for revenge against those who had wronged her in life. The movie is directed by Raghava Lawrence, who was also the director of the original Tamil version. Laxmmi Bomb is set to release on June 5, 2020. 

Prithviraj

Prithviraj will be a biographical action movie that will star Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Akshay will play the role of the legendary king Prithviraj Chauhan and the movie will be a dramatised biography of his life. The film is set to release on November 13, 2020, and is directed and written by Chandra Prakash Dwivedi. The movie is still in the early stages of its development.

Here are the five upcoming movies that Akshay Kumar is set to star in. Two of the movies will release in 2019 while the other three are spread across 2020. Fans of Akshay Kumar have a lot to look forward to and will see the actor back on the big screen very soon with Housefull 4. The genres of the five movies are all different, proving that Akshay is a versatile actor who can play any role in any genre and pull it off.
