Popular Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is known for his superior acting skills and the disciplined lifestyle. Apart from being an entertainer in the industry, the actor also promotes fitness through all his endeavours. In fact, in most of his films, he has played roles of characters who are physically fit and robust.
Fitness is first
The super-fit Akshay Kumar is a martial arts enthusiast and is trained in karate, kūdō, taekwondo and Muay Thai among various other martial art forms. The actor encourages youngsters to learn martial art for fitness and safety's sake.
The actor's passion for karate and other martial art forms is so strong that despite being unwell, he attended the 11th Akshay Kumar International Kudo tournament held in Surat, Gujarat. In a post on Instagram, while posing with the children who excelled in the art form, he expressed his happiness over the success of the tournament that was started by Akshay himself.

Akshay Kumar had previously declared his intention to open many training centres across India, along with Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray, to spread self-defense awareness. In conversation with a daily newspaper, Akshay declared his love for karate and fitness. “Karate is me. I am Akshay because of Karate. I owe it my life, my career, my reason for being the disciplined action hero that I am. I think karate should be made compulsory in schools so that children have the ability to defend and discipline themselves,” he was quoted as saying. Akshay is also one of the founding members of Kudo International Federation of India.
What's next for Akshay Kumar?
Akshay Kumar is all set to shoot for Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi with Katrina Kaif as the lead opposite him. His multi-starrer film Housefull 4 starring Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Kirti Kharbanda released this weekend. The film opened to mixed responses from the audience although Akshay's acting was lauded by audiences.
