Akshay Kumar started doing social films dating back to 2004. Aitraaz is one such movie, though it did not carry the message prominently as his other movies. In this movie, Akshay plays the character of Raj Malhotra who is harassed and eve-teased by his boss Sonia Roy, played by Priyanka Chopra. The film carried the essence of the issues clearly to the audience.

Oh My God (2012):

In the 2012 film Oh My God, Akshay Kumar essayed the role of Lord Krishna. The movie dealt with the issues of superstition that has present in the country for ages. Padman (2018):

In the 2018 movie, Akshay Kumar featured opposite Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor. The film is based on the age-long taboo of using sanitary napkins. 2.0 (2018):

The 2018 Sci-Fi movie directed by S. Shankar is the sequel to the 2010 film Enthiran, better known as Robot. Cast opposite South Indian actor Rajnikanth, in the film Akshay, played the role of an anti-hero. Even while being the antagonist Akshay Kumar managed to convey a social message through the movie. With the help of his character Pakshi Rajan, Akshay Kumar made the audiences aware of the effects of cellphone radiation after-effects on birds.
