Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra hit the big screens on October 11, a day before the Dussehra holiday. The film, directed by Vasan Bala, has taken a slow start at the box office and raked in a mere ₹4.55 crore. This comes after the movie was riddled with controversies surrounding nepotism and plagiarism accusations. Divya Khossla Kumar, who was last seen in Savi, took to her Instagram account to pen a note claiming that Alia Bhatt has been announcing fake collections of Jigra.

Divya Khossla Kumar claims Alia Bhatt has rigged Jigra box office collection

On October 12, a day after the release of Jigra, Divya Khossla Kumar, who is married to the T-Series Chairman Bhushan Kumar, took to her Instagram account to pen a note for the Alia Bhatt starrer. She shared that she had gone to watch a film in a theatre which was “totally empty”. Divya added that Alia Bhatt announced a fake collection of her film after buying tickets for the shows herself.

Divya Khosla Kumar wrote, "Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show. The theatre was totally empty … all theaters going empty every where. #Aliabhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai.. khud hi tickets karide aur fake collections announce kar diye ( Alia Bhatt has some guts to buy tickets of her own film and then announce fake collections). Wonder why paid media is silent. #weshdnotfooltheaudience #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra Х (sic).” Her message is now going viral on social media. This note also comes amid reports of Jigra being a copy of Divya starrer Savi.

Interestingly, Divya’s Savi is said to follow the same jail break story as that of Alia’s Jigra (the only difference being in Savi, the titular character played by Divya carries out the prison break of her husband, and in Jigra, Alia takes her brother out of the prison).

Kangana Ranaut launches scathing attack on Alia Bhatt over Jigra's slow start?

Divya's attack on Alia Bhatt comes a day after Kangana Ranaut seemingly took a dig at the actress and movie makers. On October 11, taking to her Instagram Stories, Kangana dropped a note that read, "When you destroy woman-centric films and make sure that they don't work, they don't work, even when you make them. Read that again. Thanks."

While Kangana did not mention Jigra or Alia Bhatt , social media users speculated that her post was an indirect dig. Alia Bhatt 's Jigra opened to a dismal ₹4.55 crore at the box office as per Sacnilk.
