Alia Bhatt Opens Up About Her Struggle With Body Image, Says Friends Discouraged Dieting

Alia Bhatt revealed about her struggles with body image issues after entering the entertainment industry. She will next be seen in action film Jigra.

Alia Bhatt has won many hearts with her acting skills and casual outlook. The actress who is all geared up for her upcoming release Jigra, opened up about her struggles with her body after entering acting career. She further spoke about her pregnancy journey.

Alia Bhatt : I always struggled with body image

In a conversation with Allure magazine, Alia Bhatt revealed, “I have struggled with body-image issues since then. No matter how much weight I lost, I always struggled. My friends would say, ‘Alia, you need to stop dieting. Just be calm, live a little, eat some food.’ And I used to be like, once a fat kid, always a fat kid. I used to say that in my head, no matter how much weight I lost".

Alia Bhatt also shared details after her pregnancy. She said that the perspective changed for the better and she started to respect her body. She also realised that she was in this business and she would never be hard on herself about the way she looks.

Alia Bhatt ’s upcoming projects

Alia will be seen in her upcoming thriller action film Jigra, co-starring Vedang Raina. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film is touted to be a drama based on a sister's love for her brother and how she would go to any lengths to protect him. It is scheduled to release in theatres on October 11. The film will clash with Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan.

Alia Bhatt has Sanjay Leela Bhansali project titled Love and War. The film will feature Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and is scheduled to release on March 20, 2026. The film's release date falls during the biggest holiday stretch, coinciding with major festivals like Ramzan, Ram Navmi, and Gudi Padwa following one after the other.
