Alia Bhatt Reacts To Comparisons Between Jigra and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal: A Common Theme...

Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of her film Jigra. Directed by Vasan Bala, the movie also features Vedang Raina and narrates the story of a sibling pair. The drama will hit the big screen on October 11 and the cast of the movie has been promoting it ahead of realise. At a recent pre-release event, Alia Bhatt addressed comparisons of her movie with Ranbir Kapoor 's Animal.

Alia Bhatt , along with Vasan Bala and Vaidang Raina attended a Jigra pre-release event in Delhi. The cast was asked about the comparisons between their film with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's blockbuster directorial Animal. For the unversed, both the films revolved around going to extreme lengths to protect one's family a similarity between the posters sparked comparisons between the projects. However, Alia shared that the two films are vastly different.
 

Joking at the event, the Raazi actress shared, “Animal Vs Jigra… Ghar pe (at home)!”. She added, “I know people have been comparing the two, but there really aren’t many similarities. It’s not just about Animal or Jigra; a common theme in many films is doing something for a loved one. It’s a genre in itself, and many movies have been made on these lines. So aside from that one aspect, there aren’t any direct similarities between the two films.”

At the same event, Alia Bhatt rubbished competing with Ranbir Kapoor . She reiterated that the couple believes in collaboration and often shares constructive feedback on each other's work. Alia shared, "I wouldn’t say there’s any competition between us. I think I am very fortunate that my husband (Ranbir Kapoor) is also my best friend and a wonderful actor. We often discuss our films and scenes with each other. I talked about Gangubai Kathiawadi and Jigra. Every time I had a doubt or confusion, I would discuss it with him and he did the same with me for Animal.”  

Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra will hit the big screen on October 11 alongside Triptii Dimri-Rajkummar Rao's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Waala Video. Additionally, Rajinikanth starrer pan-Indian movie Vettaiyan will also release on the day owing to Dussehra.
