Alia Bhatt recalls auditioning for Student Of The Year in school uniform: I was in 11th grade

Alia Bhatt me her big Bollywood debut in 2012 with Student of Year alongside debutants Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Over years, actress has starred in 25 films and recently won a National Film Award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawi. Now, actress attended Red Sea Film Festival 2023, wherein she spoke about her professional life. actress shared that when she gave her first audition for SOTY, she was still in school.

Alia Bhatt recalls her first audition for SOTY

During an interview at Red Sea International Film Festival, actress revealed that she was in 11th gre when actress gave her first interview for SOTY. Clueless about what an audition was, Alia ded that she went ahe and gave audition in her school uniform.

"I was in 11th gre, literally going from school, so I was in my uniform. I was much healthier and enjoyed eating French fries more at that time. I thought, ‘I look great, re’s nothing wrong.’ So, I walked into his office, and he said I was charming in person and asked me to do an audition,” Alia shared ding that at that time she didn’t know what an audition was, "but still she went ahe with it and rest is history.”

In a recent episode of a popular talk show, host recalled bursting into tears when director informed Alia that she was in film. “When I went to van and told her that she’s on (confirmed in film), and n I said ‘I’m directing film’. She burst out crying and first thing she said was ‘Can I eat a cupcake’?” recounted director.
