Alia Bhatt starrer 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' shoot to resume by third week of June?

Recently, an entertainment source gave sneak peek into shooting schedule of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming flick Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt. According to an online report, team of Gangubai Kathiawadi is likely to start shooting from third week of June. report also cleared air around dismantling of set of film, worth Rs. 6 crores.

Gangubai Kathiawadi shooting updates

As Maharastra government has granted permission to resume shoots of TV, films, and web-series under certain conditions, Alia Bhatt starrer will be one of first movies to resume shoots. According to report, makers are in process of acquiring required permission from state government to resume shooting. report stated that if everything goes right, makers are hopeful to resume shoot by third week of June.

report furr gave a clarification over rumours of dismantling set of film, worth ₹6 crores. report has stated that earlier filmmaker was looking to demolish sets, owing to lockdown and monsoon. But later on, y decided against it. report has claimed that set is standing tall and would need a little repair work before resumption of shoot. With 33% of crew only allowed on sets, producers are planning to sustainably complete shoot.

On or side, reportedly, Joint MD of Film City, Subhash Borkar has said that y are yet to receive an application from producers. But set of Gangubai Kathiawadi is intact. And, if producers meet all SoPs, y are hopeful shoots will resume in next two weeks, added a report.

Talking about film, Gangubai Kathiawadi will feature Alia Bhatt in lead characters.  film is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kowali, madam of a brol in Kamathipura. Alia Bhatt had shared two posters of film in January this year wherein her look for movie had left everyone stunned. Earlier, film was slated to release on September 11, 2020, but with lockdown, release date is likely to be pushed indefinitely.
