Amid Emergency Row, Kangana Ranaut's Controversial Pali Hill Bungalow Sold For ₹32 Crore

Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut has reportedly sold her Pali Hill bungalow, which was partly demolished four years ago over BMC rules violations.

Bollywood News:  Kangana Ranaut  starrer Emergency was scheduled to hit the big screens on September 6. However, the film was postponed after not receiving clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and criticism from various Sikh organisations. Amid this controversy and delay in film's release, the Queen actress has reportedly sold off her Pali bungalow in Bandra.

Kangana Ranaut ’s sells her Pali Hill bungalow?

According to reports, Kangana Ranaut has sold her bungalow located in the plush Pali Hill locality of Mumbai. The bungalow which is situated at Nargis Dutt Road in suburb Bandra West gas been sold offf to a Hyderabad-based company for ₹32 Crore.

As per reports, Kangana had purchased the bungalow for ₹20 crore years ago. Reports suggest that she also took out a loan from ICICI BanK against the property in 2022. The transaction was registered on September 5, 2024, involved a stamp duty of ₹1.92 crore and registration fee of ₹30,000.

All about the controversial Pali Hill bungalow

This property of Kangana Ranaut gained attention in 2020 when it was demolished by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This occurred after Kangana Ranaut publicly criticised then Maharastra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and was also engaged in a dispute with a Shiv Sena MP in connection to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

Later, BMC claimed the demolition was carried due to illegal alterations. But Kangana countered back by obtaining a stay order and initially sought ₹2 crore. The Tanu Weds Manu actress later withdrew it.

Kangana Ranaut ’s Emergency gets green light from CBFC

As per several reports, the Kangana Ranaut movie Emergency has been granted by U/A certificate by the CBFC. However, the censor board has proposed some scene cuts, modifications and disclaimers to be added to the movie in its theatrical release. The new release date of the movie is now awaited.

Emergency landed in legal trouble after apex Sikh religious bodies demanded a ban on the movie asserting that it would disturb communal harmony and show Sikhs in a negative light.

The film is based on the life of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and was to feature the  Punjab  Riot, Gandhi's assassination, separatist leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Operation Bluestar.
