Amitabh Bachchan birthday: Shatrughan Sinha sums up his journey aptly

Recently, when Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War did historic business at the box office, the question asked was if two-hero films will now be more prominent in Bollywood. The reason it was asked with ‘now’ was that in previous eras, there were many two-hero films that had released. Amitabh Bachchan, in particular, worked in several films with two or even three heroes in them. One of his partners in these movies of the ‘70s and ‘80s used to be Shatrughan Sinha, as the duo partnered on films like Dostana, Parwana, Naseeb, Shaan, Kaala Patthar. As Big B celebrated his 77th birthday on Friday, Sinha, despite their on-off equation, conveyed a heartwarming wish for his former co-star. Sinha termed Big B as ‘nation’s favourite icon’ and a role model while singling out his voice and sense of humour. He brilliantly traced Amitabh Bachchan’s entire journey, right from his ‘Angry Young Man’ days, subtler but impactful performances, and his current successes.

Shatrughan’s fitting tribute 

In a 4-tweet message along with pictures where they are seen holding a Filmfare Award trophy during their younger days to their recent pics, Shatrughan Sinha wrote, “Happy & loving birthday wishes for our very dear friend, from struggle days, the nation's favorite icon ‘personality in totality’  @SrBachchan. He was branded as India's 1st ‘Angry Young Man’ for his intense personality in Zanjeer, Deewar, Trishul, Kala Pathar, Lawaris."

“Though very few people knew he had a great sense of humour. Later he emerged creating new milestones through his unforgettable Kabhie Kabhie, Namak Haram, Dostana, Don. He was adored immensely in Anand, Abhimaan & Chupke Chupke. He has been rightly honoured with awards both here"

Apart from Shatrughan Sinha, several other stars conveyed their wishes to Amitabh Bachchan on his special day. Numerous fans too landed at the Bachchan residence, celebrating by sporting his looks, tattoos and posters. 

Meanwhile, recently Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, actor Sonakshi Sinha made headlines for not knowing a Ramayana-related question on Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati.
