Amitabh Bachchan greets fans on birthday; Abhishek sports new look

There was a celebratory atmosphere on social media as Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 77th birthday on Friday.  There were wishes galore for Big B not just from netizens, who ensured that #HappyBirthdayAmitabhBachchan trended throughout the day, but also from celebrities. Since almost everyone has some memory related to Amitabh Bachchan, many shared their favourite movies, scenes and other moments of the megastar. Jalsa also became a place for celebrations as fans came out in big numbers, holding banners, dancing, and dressing up like Amitabh Bachchan. Towards the evening, the Deewaar actor made the wait for the fans worth it, as he came out to acknowledge them. Even his family, wife, Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, all actors, granddaughter Aaradhya and daughter Shweta joined Big B.

While many fans landed at Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow Jalsa since morning, it seems he was at his other bungalow Pratiksha. Fans were even gathered over there. In a style that is slowly becoming synonymous with Big B, he was dressed in a white and gold kurta to meet his fans. The Waqt: The Race Against Time star acknowledged the fans by waving at them, folding his hands in front of them and even shaking hands with those who were on his way. Most of them had their mobile phones in their hands to catch a glimpse of Big B, or be lucky enough to be in the same frame as him for a selfie.

Family joins

Later, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan were also seen making their way out. What was interesting was that Abhishek was sporting a new cool. Dressed in a light pink kurta, he has grown a moustache. It seems to be for Anurag Basu’s film, for which he recently shot in Delhi.

Aishwarya and Aaradhya were dressed in hues of yellow while Jaya and Shweta in a way twinned with the Birthday Boy. 

Big B had conveyed his delight on Twitter, where he enjoys massive popularity, “My immense gratitude and gratefulness to them that send their wishes for the 11th .. I cannot possibly thank each one individually .. but each one of you reside in my heart .. my love to you ..⚘ .. अनेक अनेक धन्यवाद.”
