After receiving award, Amitabh Bachchan in his speech said something that left audience chuckling. He said, "I would like to say that when I came to kw about me receiving award I was in doubt. I thought it's a retirement call. But, let me tell you that re is some work left, that I have to finish and I have or projects in pipeline too. So if you can confirm that if I can work more or t, n I would be really obliged." Thanking audience, Amitabh Bachchan also said that it is because of ir motivation that he is standing at this platform and is receiving this award.

It is presented annually at National Film Awards ceremony by Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Brocasting. recipient is houred for ir outstanding contribution to growth and development of Indian cinema and is selected by a committee consisting of eminent personalities from Indian film industry. award is comprised of a Golden Lotus and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
