The megastar of the Hindi film industry, Big B or 'Shahenshah', Amitabh Bachchan has been honoured with countless epithets over the years. With such a massive fan following across age groups, it was obvious that the veteran actor’s birthday would be the talk of the town as the Paa star celebrated his 77th birthday on Friday. While fans ensured that #HappyBirthdayAmitabhBachchan started trending on social media, celebrities too joined in the jubilant atmosphere. However, the best wish was from his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. She shared a heartwarming throwback picture with her father, sharing a quote, apparently about his unprecedented success and longevity, and expressing her love for the veteran.
Taking to Instagram as soon as it was Big B’s birthday, Shweta shared a snap where the father-daughter duo is dressed in traditional attires, seemingly from a wedding. Shweta is seen standing beside her father and holding him from behind as he is seated, while they have held each other’s hands. Shweta captioned the post, “When you get to the top of the mountain, keep climbing- Happy Birthday Papa I love you endlessly ♥️”
It is a known fact that Shweta is extremely close to her father. Even a few hours before the birthday too, she had shared a black-and-white photo from her childhood, where she is sitting on her father’s shoulders.
She had similarly shared a black-and-white snap of Big B when it was announced that he’d be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award this year. She had then written, “Whose your Dada (Saheb Phalke) ? Uncontainable excitement, pride, tears, and general hysteria!!! Congratulations Papa ♥️”
Professional collaboration
Shweta had made her acting debut opposite her father in an advertisement for a jewellery brand. Though the ad was pulled down later for offending bankers, it had made big headlines. The duo, however, featured in another ad for the brand recently.
The name 'Amitabh Bachchan'
Amitabh Bachchan recently spoke about his birth on Kaun Banega Crorepati. He revealed that he was named Inquilab (Revolution) since he was born during the Quit India movement in 1942 and his mother Teji Bachchan was one of the participants in it. He was to be named Inquilab Srivastav, but his name eventually became Amitabh Bachchan as he took the name 'Bachchan' that his father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan used to write at the end of his poems, while another poet Sumitra Nandan Pant suggested he be named Amitabh.
