The megastar made his debut in the Hindi film industry in 1969 and has a contribution of 50 years in films. The actor has taken up many social causes like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' and polio awareness.

Awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award
The veteran actor was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and reacting to it, he said that “There is a paucity of words searching a response” for the "generosity of words” that he was congratulated with for the honour. Big B added that he was “deeply grateful and most humbled” while expressing his “sincerest gratitude." The megastar added that he was overwhelmed with the love, but said he was just their ‘humble Amitabh Bachchan’.

Emraan Hashmi will be seen playing the leading role in this film. It is the first time that Amitabh Bachchan and he will be seen sharing screen space. The film is said to revolve around a bunch of retired friends who have a reunion. At the reunion, the characters play a psychological game. Amitabh Bachchan plays one of the lawyers, while Emraan Hashmi plays a business tycoon.

Yet another project:
Amitabh Bachchan has another release scheduled for 2020 which is based on the life of a football coach. He plays the role of Vijay Barse, who trains children for street football. The film, titled Jhund, is based on real-life events. The film will be directed by Nagraj Manjule, who is best known for his Marathi movie, Sairat. Jhund will feature actors like Vicky Kadia and Ganesh Deshmukh. The actors have reportedly wrapped the shooting of the film at Nagpur.
