When Anil Kapoor was attached to star in 'Forrest Gump' remake by Kundan Shah

Much before actor Aamir Khan took on Hindi remake of Forrest Gump, veteran actor Anil Kapoor says he h pitched idea to late filmmaker Kundan Shah.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis, 1994 multiple Acemy Award winning film, starred Tom Hanks in title role. It will be reme for Indian audience as Laal Singh Chdha with Khan in le.
However, Kapoor said he was once attached to star in film which was ultimately canned.

"It was t pitched by Kundan, I h pitched it to him. I wanted to do film. Before film could release in India, someone h told me about it. I n told Kundan, 'Let's make this film'," Kapoor told PTI.
Shah, best kwn for 1983 cult classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, h written script for aptation but something didn't with Kapoor.

"I always found problems in second half. As we didn't have rights of film, second half was entirely changed. You can't copy it as it is. But second half didn't work for me. We h even recorded songs for film," 63-year-old actor said.
Kapoor said though he never worked with Shah, he was close to filmmaker.

"I always wanted to work with Kundan. We h kwn each or for many years. I was friendly to his younger bror, we used to stay in same compound," he ded.
Kapoor will be next seen in Mohit Suri's Malang, along with itya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani. film is slated to hit screens on February 7.
