Kapoor has been featured in innumerable Bollywood and Hollywood films and television series. Here’s the list of movies in which the international actor has given mind-blowing performances.
1. A braveheart in Mr India (1987)
Released in 1987, Mr India was the second highest-grossing Indian film of the year. The superhero drama was helmed by Shekhar Kapur and featured Sri Devi opposite Anil Kapoor. Mr India is known for its dialogues and songs including Amrish Puri’s 'Mogambo Khush Hua' and Sri Devi’s zestful dance performance in Hawa Hawaii, which are fresh even today.
2. An admirable musician in Woh 7 Dinn (1983)
Anil Kapoor portrayed the role of a gifted musician, Prem Pratap Patialeywale in Woh 7 Din. He is in love with Maya essayed by Padmini Kohlapure. You experience plot twist when Maya’s husband Dr Anand, played by Naseeruddin Shah comes into the frame. She was forced to marry Dr Anand after being caught with the aspiring musician. Directed by Bapu, the film featured Anil Kapoor in the lead role for the first time.
3. A guilty husband in My Wife’s Murder (2005)
Though the film was not a super hit at the box office, Anil Kapoor earned a lot of acclaim for his performance in it. Kapoor is seen as a husband who is accused of his wife’s murder. The process of proving himself innocent becomes a nightmare for him. My Wife’s Murder is a remake of Ram Gopal Varma’s Telugu thriller Madhyanam Hathya.
4. A loving father in Ek Lakdi Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga (2019)
Anil Kapoor shared the screen space for the first time with his daughter Sonam Kapoor in this coming of age drama. Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, the myth-breaking also featured handsome Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla. The story revolves around Sweety (Sonam) who harbours an unrevealable secret as she might not find acceptance by the society or even her family. But she discloses the secret to Sahil (Rajkummar) and it changes her life.
