Bollywood filmmaker Zoya Akhtar turned a year older on Monday, October 14. As the ace director ringed in her 47th birthday, several Bollywood stars came forward to shower her with love. Many celebs including Zoya Akhtar's brother Farhan extended heartwarming birthday greetings for the filmmaker.
Katrina Kaif wishes Zoya Akhtar on her birthday
Katrina Kaif, who worked with Zoya Akhtar in 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', shared an adorable still with the birthday girl in her Instagram story. She put a crown on Zoya's head through an emoji in a picture where the two are seen posing lovingly. Seemingly the image is from the time they were shooting the movie.

Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, who worked with the filmmaker in 'Dil Dhadakne Do' also showed love on the birthday girl with an adorable throwback picture. Anushka Sharma captioned the post saying, "Happy happy to you zo zo!"

Meanwhile 'Gully Boy' debutant Siddhant Chaturvedi popularly known by his screen name MC Sher, too didn't fall short of words while gushing praises on the filmmaker. "She makes Films. She breaks stereotypes. Though she doesn't party much, she isn't as serious as this makes her look," the Bollywood newbie wrote sharing an adorable selfie with Zoya Akhtar.

Zoya who is known for her out-of-the-box projects has gained great fame for helming films like 'Luck By Chance', 'Dil Dhadakne Do', 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and 'Gully Boy'. Other than Bollywood, Zoya has also tried her hands at Netflix's 'Lust Stories' and streaming giant Amazon prime's 'Made in Heaven'.
Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy nominated for Oscars
Zoya Akhtar's directorial venture 'Gully Boy' starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt has been announced as India’s official entry for the Academy Awards next year. 'Gully Boy', a story about a boy from Mumbai slums rising to become a famous rapper, had released on February 14. It was hailed by critics and audiences also gave it the thumbs up. The film turned out to be a huge success, grossing over Rs 140 crores at the box office in India. It is jointly produced by Zoya Akhtar's Tiger Baby Productions and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment.
