Jodhaa Akbar (2008)

The historical sets and the majestic characters created by the director were simply marvellous. This movie was not only grand in appearance but also the execution of the film was right on point. The film performance was brilliantly complimented with its amazing soundtrack which was produced by A. R. Rahman. The iconic roles by the actors and the impeccable story execution were the main reason behind the film success.

Swades (2004)

The movie is based on the subject of patriotism. The screenplay and the narrative of the film is the only reason the film garnered massive praise from critics. Shah Rukh Khan delivered one of the most memorable performances in this film, while it marked the debut of actor Gayatri Joshi. Lagaan (2001)

The film is based on the Third Battle of Panipat and stars Sanjay Dutt alongside, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. This movie too is a period drama, set during the war of Marathas and the Afghans.
