Ayushmann Khurrana opens up about his journey in the film industry

Ayushmann Khurrana has achieved both commercial and critical success in the Hindi film industry. The National award-winning actor has essayed the roles of versatile characters ever since his debut back in 2012. He has achieved this level of success within a decade of working in mainstream films, which is a feat achieved by only a few. Making a debut with an off-beat film like Viky Donor which dealt with the story of a sperm donor, Ayushmann went on to make many films on untouched topics. Ayushmann has showcased topics like erectile dysfunction and caste divide through his films. The actor now evidently has gained a following for himself with a strong fan base.

Ayushmann talks about his first film
Recently while speaking to a news daily, Ayushmann talked about his experience as a debutant. The actor's first film was directed by Shoojit Sircar who reportedly felt that Ayushmann was the perfect fit for the role as soon as he saw him. Ayushmann revealed that the director very subtly guided him to tone down his performance. Ayushmann was an anchor before joining films which made it difficult for him to tone down his voice. He revealed that initially, it took him six to seven takes to get his voice right.

Ayushmann also disclosed that he rejected six scripts before signing his first film. He was looking for the perfect project which turned out to be Vicky Donor. The 35-years-old actor revealed that he felt like a 'lost cow' while working on his first film. He said that he never felt the outsider complex as has worked in the entertainment industry for years before working on his first film.

The actor stated that not knowing any rules of the mainstream Hindi films industry allowed him to break the rules and carve his own path. The actor will be next seen alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in Bala. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film will release on November 7, 2019.
