Ayushmann plays a bald man who is struggling with his hair loss. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Amar Kaushik. This is the third collaboration of Ayushmann Khurrana with Bhumi Pednekar. The trailer and songs of the film have reportedly been positively received by the viewers. The trailer of Bala promises to be a slapstick comedy. The movie deals with some social issues of premature balding which showcases the plight of Ayushmann Khurrana’s character owning the same. His character in the film was named Bala for his lustrous hair, but soon he is ridiculed by the society and dumped by his girlfriend for his scanty hair. He tries to grow his hair by hook or crook but fails all the time. The actor can be seen applying a wig in the film. Ayushmann’s character can be seen opting for a hair transplant in the film under amusing circumstances.

Ayushmann Khurrana was recently seen hosting the IIFA Awards with his brother Aparshakti Khurrana. Earlier Aysuhmann was seen in the film Dream Girl. He essayed the role of a man who was an expert in speaking in a woman's voice. Ayushmann shared the silver screen with Nushrat Bharchura. The film was directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. It was reportedly a hit at the box office. The film was budgeted for Rs. 30 crores and churned an estimate of Rs.198 crores.
