Ayushmann Khurrana Walks Out Of Kareena Kapoor Starrer Film Directed By Meghna Gulzar: Report

Kareena Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana were reportedly sharing the screen for the first time. As per media reports, the actors were on board to feature in an upcoming film directed by Meghna Gulzar. The drama movie is expected to go on floors later this year.

Months after the reports of Ayushmann and Kareena Kapoor starring in a film together first surfaced online, new reports suggest that the Dream Girl 2 actor has opted out of the film. As per media reports, the film is tentatively titled Daayra. However, the sources shared that Ayushmann has his dates blocked which is why he has decided against starring in the film. 
 

A source in the know told Mid-day, “Ayushmann’s music tour is already announced, and it includes multiple performances across major US cities. Plus, besides Border 2, he has committed to two movies, one with Karan Johar and Guneet Monga Kapoor, and another with Maddock Films. The dates are currently being negotiated for all the projects, but Meghna’s movie is not on his list.” However, no official announcement about the same has been made yet. The production team is now looking to replace Ayushmann. 

Kareena Kapoor to star in a film based on Hyderabad Rape case

A source close to the development of the movie told Pinkvilla that director Meghna Gulzar is making a film inspired by the 2022 Hyderabad rape case. As per the insider, Kareena Kapoor has been roped in for the movie. The movie is said to stir a conversation about the controversial matter.  
 

The insider shared, “It’s a hard-hitting film that warrants the presence of actors with the calibre of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. The duo has read the script and were shocked by the details of the case. After Talvar, this is another film that could shock the nation and stir a conversation about the case.” However, official details of the movies are yet to be announced. As per the source, while the actors have given a verbal nod to starring in the movie, the paperwork of the same is still pending. The insider shared, “Meghna is looking to take the film on floors by the end of 2024. It will arrive in the cinema halls in 2025.” They also added that Meghna Gulzar will be presenting all details of the case in a sensitive manner.
