Post Abhishek Pathak's interview, the makers of Bala also stated their side of the controversy. The producer of Bala, Dinesh Vijan, through his production house passed a statement saying, Bala has been in work for several months and was announced worldwide. In an interview with a news daily, he also said that Bala is very close to everyone's heart who is working for the film. It is their meaningful contribution to the conversation on challenging social themes, such as the widespread stigmatisation of baldness and dark skin. Dinesh further added that if there are multiple films dealing with a similar theme, then it provides more variety to the viewers to choose from, which can never be a bad thing. The producer also said that Maddock stands firmly by the originality of Bala, and added that the team will back it up all the way, including through legal recourse if need be.
