Actor-director duo Kartik Aaryan and Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was off to a good start at the box office on its opening day as it collected ₹35.5 crore nett in India. By noon, it has already added nearly ₹20 crore to its kitty, taking the total to ₹55 crore plus. Sacnilk reported that the afternoon occupancy of the film was around 80.51% in Hindi. It led the occupancy of Ajay's Singham Again by a good margin of over 15%.

According to Pinkvilla, day two collections of the film may land in the same range as its opening day business. If that is the case, the first weekend business of the film has a good chance to cross the ₹100 crore mark, given Sunday is Bhai Dooj.

As per X reviews, the Diwali release offers a good blend of horror and comedy, which makes it a good pick for the family audiences.
