In an interview given to an online portal, revealed she had been a victim of bullying and fat-shaming during her school days. She narrated how her classmates traumatised her for being a fat kid during her childhood. Though she dealt with trauma and weight with resilience, one incident that took her to surprise was when a producer offered her only 5% of her male counterpart's remuneration. Reportedly, undisclosed actor had same number of hits as Bhumi and also had same career graph as her. Bhumi said that she still remembered this incident even though it occurred a few years back.
