Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar who is kwn to ace some of mind-blowing roles on-screen thanked all yesteryear phemenal leing lies including several legendary actresses like Jaya Bachchan, Smita Patil, Rekha, and many more, for ushering in change for heroines on screen. According to news ncy ANI, Bhumi thanked all iconic legendary actresses who have contributed to portrayal of women on big screen.

Talking about stars from 90s era, Dum Lagake Haisha actress said,

“Through all eras of cinema, re have always been films that have stood out for progressive portrayal of women. Even in 90s, cause I am a 90s kid, be it Rangeela, DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - re were movies which h women play strong characters.” ding, furr she thanked all actresses for massive change for coming up generations of stars and said, “So, luckily a massive change h alrey started before I became an actress and it definitely helped me. Jaya ma'am, Shabana ma'am, Smita ma'am, Sridevi ma'am, Hema ma'am, Rekha ma'am - y have all done some wholesome cinema and contributed greatly towards how women were portrayed on screen."

Asserting that, Bhumi says that today she feels her fans and audience do t just look at a heroine to d glamour on-screen. y are w more concerned with storyline and ir acting skills. Elucidating furr, she said, “As a female actor, I am t just expected to be in a film just to d glamour or to be in a song or to be an object of miration. re is a lot more that I am contributing to a film today. I feel women today are at a much better place and in a much better position to command respect for ir craft."
Meanwhile, on work front, actress is busy shooting for her upcoming film Bhaai Do opposite Rajkummar Rao in Uttrakhand. Bhaai Do is second installment of superhit flick Bhaai Ho which saw Ayushmann Khurrana and Neena Gupta in le roles. film also h Gajraj Rao, Sanya Malhotra, and Sheeba Chha in pivotal roles. While Rajkummar Rao plays role of a cop in second installment, Pednekar will be seen playing a PT teacher with big dreams in Harshavardhan Kulkarni directorial.
