Bhumi Pednekar: An honour playing Chandro Tomar in Saand Ki Aankh

Bhumi Pednekar recently revealed her experience of playing Chandro Tomar in the film, Saand Ki Aankh. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead role.

Bhumi Pednekar is gearing up for her upcoming film, Saand Ki Aankh which also stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. The film is a biopic on the ‘Shooter Dadis', Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar. The trailer of the film was unveiled recently by the makers and received a positive response from the viewers. Bhumi Pednekar recently revealed thoughts on her experience of playing the challenging character of Chandro Tomar. The actor revealed that she saw the Shooter Dadis for the first time in Aamir Khan's reality show, Satyameva Jayate.

Bhumi Pednekar reveals that Saand Ki Aankh will be a tribute to her grandparents

In a recent interview, Bhumi Pednekar revealed that she feels honoured to play the feisty Chandro Tomar. The actor further revealed about Chandro Tomar, that she is an extremely intelligent woman who learnt English by watching the people around her. Bhumi further said that Chandro Daadi does not snap at others during an argument but her response is truly a lesson for all. The actor revealed that she tried to imbibe some qualities of her grandmother while essaying the role as she was a Haryanvi Jat. Bhumi Pednekar also revealed that she lost her grandfather during the launch of the film so this movie will be a tribute to her grandparents.

 

Senior actors like Soni Razdan and Neena Gupta said that elder actors should have been chosen for the film

The film, Saand Ki Aankh was also embroiled in a controversy where some senior actors like Soni Razdan and Neena Gupta said that elder actors should have been cast as the Shooter Dadis in the film. Bhumi Pednekar spoke about this in an interview and revealed that the casting was completely the filmmaker's prerogative. The actor went on to say that she respects Soni Razdan and Neena Gupta's views on this subject but hoped that they would change their mind once they see the film. Bhumi further added that playing a character like Chandro Daadi who is double her age was an opportunity of a lifetime. The actor also called them true legends for taking up such a challenge in their life.
