Bhumi Pednekar says Sonchiriya is different from her earlier films
Bhumi Pednekar had revealed about her film Sonchiriya in an earlier interview. She had describes the film to be different from her earlier works in Bollywood.

Bhumi Pednekar is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most versatile actors in the film industry. With films like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Toilet- Ek Prem Katha, and Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, the actor has proved that she is here to stay. Bhumi also appeared in the film Sonchiriya, earlier this year. The movie was helmed by Abhishek Chaubey. It also starred Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. Even though the film was positively received by the critics, it reportedly failed to work wonders at the box office. When asked about why the film didn't work well at the ticket windows, the actress was still very proud of her work and was all praises of the movie.

Bhumi's character in Sonchiriya is a survivor
In one of her earlier interviews, Bhumi revealed her character Indumati from the film Sonchiriya was a survivor with deep reserves of strength. The actress further added that she loved the character because she showcased extraordinary power when pushed to a challenging situation. The actor also said that she felt honoured to play a character who broke all the shackles. Bhumi considered herself to essay a character who provided a voice to several underprivileged women.

She further revealed how she was approached for the role. It was a Sunday afternoon when she was at friend's place when she got a text from the filmmaker where he stated that he wanted to meet her. The actor then revealed that she immediately wanted to be part of the story when she heard the story for the first time. Bhumi went on to say that she feels privileged to get an opportunity to work with Abhishek Chaubey in such an early phase in her career. She also explained that she played several characters in her earlier films which belong to heartland India but described Sonchiriya to be a different film. She added that she had to get rid of her ego and opinion while working on the film. In other news, Bhumi is next going to be seen in Saand Ki Aankh along with Taapsee Pannu.
