Bollywood celebrities have been raising ir voice against racism and supporting ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement in aftermath of George Floyd’s death. However, y have also been receiving criticism from a section for being silent on issues concerning India, and t looking into one’s own backyard before condemning a global event. t just netizens, even actors like Abhay Deol and Kangana Ranaut have been vocal in ir views against se stars.

Kangana slams stars

Kangana h earlier questioned ir silence on lynching of monks in Palghar and h stated that ir selective outr was ‘perhaps because of ir pre-independence colonial slavery genes'. In a recent interview with BBC, actor reiterated her point and said that stars supporting ‘Black Lives Matter’ were being ‘called out’ for ir silence on killing of shus. 

She also said it was easier for stars to ‘resonate with mirities than majority’ because ‘Hinduism is t based on conversion or conquering.’ Kangana said that stars perhaps feared resonating with majoritarian sentiments, and preferred to 'politicise compassion, humanity, activism', and were a ‘part of problem’. 

National Award-winning actor also said that y were ‘politicising’ event to ‘furr ir professional interest’, and called it ‘disheartening.’

Kangana termed stars posting ‘Black Lives Matter’ messs as a ‘fancy’ way to join campaign relevant to West, while wondering how y were contributing to socio-political reform of America.

She also suggested that it seemed y were trying to look ‘busy without work’. She said that re was a lot that h to be done in India, and that one should take le from movement in USA. Queen star ded that one should ‘deal with evil within house’, before going out and ‘reforming world.’

Kangana asked ‘How dare y?” to stars for endorsing fairness products and ‘saying Black Lives Matter shamelessly.” actor called herself ‘exception’ for t endorsing fairness products and questioned ir ‘million dollar deals’. She accused stars of ‘commercializing dissent’, calling racism as ‘deep-rooted’ while terming controversy as ‘lowest humanity can hit.’ 

Moreover, when asked about social initiatives that stars were involving mselves during COVID-19 pandemic, Kangana replied that most of m were ‘vertising mselves’ more than y should have.

Like Kangana, Abhay Deol h also similarly urged all celebrities to look within before saying ‘Black Lives Matter.’ actor h even shared how fairness product companies h changed some of termilogies to avoid criticism.
