Sanju to Sultan, blockbuster hits rejected by Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut made her debut with Gangster in 2006 and went on to carve a remarkable journey in the cinema business. From hits like Tanu Weds Manu and Queen to turning down roles in some blockbuster films, Kangana has come a long way and there’s no looking back for her. Here are the movies that Kangana rejected:-

Sanju

One significant offer that Kangana declined was the role in this biographical drama based on Sanjay Dutt's life. She was offered Sonam Kapoor's role. The actress reportedly chose not to portray his onscreen wife, a decision that led to Dia Mirza taking on the role and the movie becoming one of her career's biggest hits.

Sultan

Similarly, Kangana turned down the opportunity to be Salman Khan's leading lady in Sultan. She explained that coming from a background of substantial roles in previous films, Kangana wanted a role that would stimulate her mind. As a result, she opted for projects offering more depth.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Bajrangi Bhaijaan also missed the chance to feature Kangana as its leading lady. Although the exact reason for her rejection remains unknown, Kareena Kapoor Khan eventually took on the role and contributed to the massive success of this Salman Khan starrer.

The Dirty Picture

Kangana was also the initial choice for The Dirty Picture but she failed to recognize its potential. Vidya Balan eventually took on the role and delivered an outstanding performance that is still remembered. Kangana later acknowledged the film's success and admitted to not seeing the opportunity at that time.

Airlift

Kangana was also approached for the historical drama Airlift, where she would have played Akshay Kumar's on-screen wife. However, due to her busy schedule, the actress let go of the offer, paving the way for Nimrat Kaur to step into the role.

Other than this Kangana was also offered to play the lead in Akshay Kumar’s Rustom but the actress again gave it a miss.
