The Gujarati film industry is commonly known as Dhollywood, and it has given the mainstream Hindi film Industry some great films and performances to look up to. It is common to see a Bollywood film actor taking the spotlight in Gujarati films. Here’s a list of actors who are seen in Gujarati films.

Bollywood actors in Dhollywood

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan has done a list of movies in different languages like Hindi, English and Bhojpuri. The acting veteran was seen in Naam Chhe Maru Ganga which is a Gujrati remake of the Bhojpuri film. Naam Chhe Maru Ganga was a great success because of its star-studded cast including Jaya Bachchan and Gulshan Grover. Amitabh contributed to the Gujrati film industry not only by acting but also by producing films. He made his first film in the year 2013 by the name, Saptapadii.

Naseeruddin Shah

Naseeruddin Shah made his Gujrati film debut with Bhavni Bhavai, which means The Tale of Life in English. The film also starred Om Puri, Smita Patil, Mohan Gokhale, and Benjamin Gilani. Naseeruddin was seen playing the lead role of King Chakrasen. He also won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Gujarati at the 65th National Film Awards.

Jackie Shroff

Jackie Shroff belongs to the Gujrati community by birth and has contributed to the Gujrati Industry by acting in Ventilator. Ventilator is a remake of a Marathi film and Jackie will share the screen space with popular Gujrati film actor, Pratik Gandhi.

Supriya Pathak

The actor is born in a Kathiawadi Gujarati and Punjabi family who is popular for her acting skills in the Hindi and Gujrati film circles. The actor has given two Gujrati hits including Carry On Kesar and Best of Luck Laalu, both of which were released in the same year.
