Bollywood's biggest flops of 2024: The current year has not been the most pleasant for the Hindi film industry. Even though the highest-grossing movie of Bollywood ever - Stree 2, was released this year, the first part of the year saw sporadic hits at the box office. Big-budget films featuring stellar star casts also failed to pull audiences to theatres. Alia Bhatt 's latest release Jigra is a recent example of the same. The film has registered a dismal business, again putting the credibility of Bollywood in the line of fire. Take a look at the Bollywood box office report of the year so far.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha
The year has been especially difficult for Ajay Devgn , who has faced two flops so far. His film co-starring Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha minted ₹12.8 crore and was made on a budget of ₹85 crore. The film also stars Jimmy Shergill, Sai Manjekar and Shantanu Maheshwari.
Crakk: Jeetega…Toh Jiyegaa
The Vidyut Jammwal, Arjun Rampal starrer was made on a budget of ₹50 crore but made up earning only ₹16.2 crore. The film was declared a disaster at the box office.
Merry Christmas
The Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi starrer was one of the first releases of the year. The film opened to a dismal ₹3.4 crore and amassed a total of ₹23.4 cr. The movie was made on a budget of ₹50 crore.
Sarfira
The Akshay Kumar starrer was acclaimed critically but was a disaster commercially. The film is a remake of Surya's Soorari Potru and minted ₹29.3cr despite being made on a budget of ₹90 crore.
Yodha
Sidharth Malhotra starrer Yodha is another commercial disaster this year. Made on a budget of ₹65 crore, the movie raked in ₹42.2 crore.
Khel Khel Mein
Apart from Ajay Devgn , the year has been brutal for Akshay Kumar . His movies Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira and even Khel Khel Mein turned out to be underperformers at the box office. The ensemble film was made on a budget of ₹95 crore and made only ₹44.6cr. The film was released alongside Stree 2 and Vedaa on Independence Day .
Maidaan
Inspired by the Indian football team, the film is headlined by Ajay Devgn . Made on a budget of ₹150 crore, Maidaan made only ₹62.8 crore.
Chandu Champion
Kartik Aaryan starrer Chandu Champion minted ₹75.4 cr having been made on a budget of ₹95 crore.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan
One of the biggest flops of the year was Akshay Kumar -Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The movie made ₹ 75.4 crore and was made on a budget of ₹250 crore.
Jigra
The Alia Bhatt starrer has made it to the list of the biggest flops of the year. Directed by Vasan Bala, the movie is reportedly made on a budget of ₹90 crore. The film is still in theatre and has raked in ₹ 23.60 Cr, till now as per Sacnilk.
