When your heart is broken, it can feel like the end of the world. Many times, heartbreaks are considered to be the most difficult thing to deal with. Although you may try hard to forget those long chats, time spent together, and every special memory, it is hard to run away from emotions that memory lanes stir. That is where movies come in. Films help you to escape reality and may teach you important life lessons. There are few Bollywood characters that taught us that heartbreaks are not the end of the world.

1.      Dear Zindagi (Alia Bhatt)

Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi portrayed Alia Bhatt as going through depression. She is a girl in her 20s who tends to fall in love easily. After a series of downturns and heartbreaks, Alia consults a therapist as she is suffering from insomnia. When she starts to feel better and happy again, she ends up falling in love with the therapist (Shah Rukh Khan). However, her therapist responds to her saying that their relationship is not possible. Alia finally moves on and finally completes the short film she has been working on.

2.      Queen (Kangana Ranaut)

What could be worse than your fiance leaving you one day before your wedding? Kangana's character is heartbroken to learn that the person she thought she would spend the rest of her life with has left her. She takes this as an opportunity to move on. She goes on a solo trip to Paris. While on her journey, she gets to know herself better and when she finally comes back home, she is already moved on with her pride intact.

3.      Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Anushka Sharma)

Anushka Sharma is in love with Shah Rukh Khan’s character in the film. She tries hard to make him fall in love with her, but he is still hung on his love, Katrina Kaif, in the film. Knowing this, Anushka is heartbroken but she does not let this setback affect her life. She respects Shah Rukh Khan’s decision and moves on.

4.      Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (Deepika Padukone)

Deepika Padukone is in a one-sided love affair with Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Deepika is hurt when she learns that Ranbir is going out of the country to pursue his further studies because, for him, nothing is more important than chasing his dreams. Of course, it was painful for Deepika's character to accept the fact but she does not let heartbreak define her life. Without waiting for him, she moves on with her life.
