Bollywood: Directors who turned into actors for certain films

A director is someone who manages the functioning of each and every aspect of filmmaking. A director plays a significant role in the portrayal of a story. There have been instances where directors turned actors for certain films. Here are five directors who were also appreciated for their acting skills.

1. Farhan Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar is a Bollywood actor who was famous even before he made his debut with the film Rock On!! He has directed super hits like Don, Don 2, Lakshya, and Dil Chahta Hai. He went on to act in films like Luck By Chance, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He was last seen in the film The Sky Is Pink opposite Priyanka Chopra.

2. Anurag Kashyap

Anurag Kashyap is described as one of the best directors of this era. He has directed critically acclaimed films like Gangs Of Wasseypur and Raman Raghav 2.0. His previous work Manmarziyaan was received well by the audience. He has also acted in a number of films like Daas Dev, Bombay Rose, and Naam Hai Akira. He will be seen as an inspector in an upcoming film titled Ghoomketu.

3. Rakesh Roshan

Rakesh Roshan has directed a number of films like Koi… Mil Gaya, Karan Arjun, and Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. He has worked in a number of films as an actor, which includes films like Koi… Mil Gaya, Mother, and Pyaar Do, Pyaar Lo. His film Koi… Mil Gaya was a super hit and hence had a sequel as well. He is loved by fans for his direction as well as acting.

4. Karan Johar

Karan Johar is one of the most celebrated directors as proved by the awards that he has won throughout his career. He has directed films like Student Of The Year, My Name Is Khan, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He has won a number of awards for his direction in various films. He has also acted in a number of films like Simmba, Shandaar, and Hasee Toh Phasee.

5. Farah Khan
