Boman Irani portrayed one of most iconic and memorable roles of his career in 2009 super hit film 3 Idiots directed by Munnabhai fame Rajkumar Hirani. film h won accoles and critical reviews from audiences all over world. Boman Irani also recalled experience of living inside IIM campus and filming for 3 Idiots in presence of students re. He credited actor Aamir Khan with genius idea of staying inside campus to imbibe surroundings of an educational institution by calling it a 'masterstroke'. Boman Irani played role of Viru Sahastrabuddhe, strict and quirky director of college where actors Aamir Khan, R Mhavan and Sharman Joshi played role of engineering students from different family backgrounds. Virus is portrayed as a stubborn and ruthless character who starts out as antagonist of film but eventually ends up changing his ways in end.
