Boman Irani to debut as a director soon; film to be a father-son story

Actor Boman Irani, known for his roles in 'Munnabhai', 3 Idiots, & 'Don', is all set to turn director for an upcoming project-a tale of a father and son

Boman Irani will soon be assuming the role of a director for an upcoming project. The actor, whose claim to fame was director Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Munnabhai MBBS, spoke to a daily about his excitement for the project as he revealed that the script is ready for the film and that the production is likely to begin in the first half of 2020. Boman Irani is reportedly going to act in this film as well as direct it.

The actor spoke about the casting of the film and revealed that looking for the right actors is one of the difficult jobs. He also said that the cast and the script for the film are likely to be finalized before the end of this year. The actor was hesitant in wanting to give any more details about the film except for the fact that it is a story of a father and son.

Boman Irani also spoke about the various difficulties faced while making a directorial debut. He said that it didn't matter if one is from within or outside the industry. The work that is displayed onscreen, in the end, is what takes one ahead. However, he did agree to the ease of accessibility that someone from the industry would have over someone who is completely new to the industry.

What's next for Boman Irani?

Apart from being an actor and now a director, Boman Irani is also an avid photographer. Boman Irani was last seen in Nikhil Musale's Made In China where he played the role of a local sexologist. He was also seen in Tarun Mansukhani's Netflix frim  Drive along with Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez. His next film is the Ranveer Singh starrer '83 in which he will essay the role of veteran cricketer Farokh Engineer. The film narrates the journey of the cricket team's triumph at the 1983 Cricket World Cup held in England.
