'Can’t wait to start TAKHT!': Karan Johar shares pictures with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, netizens share his excitement

Karan Johar's much-anticipated magnum opus titled 'Takht' has been doing the rounds for all the right reasons. The period drama featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Alia Bhatt in key roles is slated to hit the theatres in 2020. While there is no official announcement on when the film is going on floors, filmmaker Karan Johar recently revealed that the shooting for the same might start anytime soon. 

Karan who was recently spotted attending an award ceremony with the star cast of the film shared pictures with them on social media. He took to Instagram and shared a picture where he can be seen posing with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. In the post, Karan wrote, "Team #TAKHT!! @aliaabhatt@ranveersingh @vickykaushal09"

Again, he shared another picture with 'Gully Boy' actor Ranveer Singh where the actor known for his peppy nature can be seen planting a kiss on the producer-director's cheek. Karan captioned the post saying, "This mad one that I love!!!! Can’t wait to start TAKHT!❤️🧡❤️ @ranveersingh"

This would be the first time that Karan Johar will be trying his hands directing an epic. The producer-director has been known for his expertise in creating breathtaking romantic moments on screen that make you want to have a love story similar to his characters. 'Takht' is a historical epic based set in the Mughal era. As his post suggests, the film will have an epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne.

As all Karan Johar movies are a family entertainer, this one too shall live up to it as it revolves around a story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession. As he mentioned in his post, "Takht is about WAR for LOVE".

The star cast of the film was announced earlier last year and the team of actors selected for the venture raised the expectations of the audience.
