Centre & IAF move Delhi HC against Dharma's Gunjan Saxena biopic; court issues notice
The Central Government and the Indian Air Force on Wednesday have moved to the Delhi High Court against the Netflix movie Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil Girl.

Central Government and Indian Air Force on Wednesday have moved Delhi High Court seeking an injunction against Dharma Productions' Netflix release 'Gunjan Saxena- Kargil Girl', alleging that it depicts IAF in a b light. Delhi High Court has refused to grant injunction at this st, stating that petition should have been filed earlier. court has asked for Gunjan Saxena to be me a party to case.
For w, re will t be a stay on movie because it has been released for weeks, court said, ding it will hear matter on September 18. A tice has been issued to both Dharma Productions and Netflix India.

" shoulders of armed forces are bro eugh to protect its reputation" and if IAF has any objections "let m take it up", court said. A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan disposed of plea by an NGO against film starring Janhvi Kapoor.

"Why this kind of sensitivity to a movie or a book? Are our institutions so weak?", bench said. It also questioned legal basis for claiming that IAF has to be shown in a good light and t orwise.

It directed Centre to decide representation in accordance with law, rules, regulations and government policy applicable to case. NGO, Justice For Rights Foundation, alleged that some scenes and dialogues in movie are factually incorrect, misleing and portray an inappropriate work culture to glorify screen character of former Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena.

It told court that as per initial understanding, Dharma Production, which produced film, h promised to represent IAF auntically and to make all efforts to ensure that film helps inspire next generation of IAF officers. To this, bench said that if IAF was aggrieved by it, let it take action. " IAF is alive to situation. Let m take action," it said.
