Meghna Gulzar is the daughter of renowned director, lyricist and poet, Gulzar. Meghna kick-started her career in Bollywood as an assistant director of Gulzar Saab’s Hu Tu Tu in 1999. Further, she went on to direct her first film Filhaal in 2002, which starred Sushmita Sen and Tabu. The director’s second debut film was Fardeen Khan-Eesha Deol starrer Just Married in 2007. 1. Dus Kahaniyaan
This Meghna Gulzar directorial stars an ensemble cast of Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Nana Patekar, Arbaaz Khan, Jimmy Sheirgill, Anupam Kher, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Bajpayee, Naseeruddin Shah, Rohit Roy, Dino Morea, and Anup Soni amongst others. This anthology drama comprises of ten short stories co-directed by Hansal Mehta, Rohit Roy, Jasmeet Dhodhi, Sanjay Gupta, Apoorva Lakhia, and Meghna Gulzar. Released on December 7, 2007, the film got average reviews from the critics and the audience.

2. Talvar
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, this Hindi thriller drama is based on the Noida double murder case that happened in 2008. This incident involves a teenage girl and a servant. Talvar stars Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Neeraj Kabi in pivotal roles. Produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and Vineet Jain, this critically acclaimed film garnered various accolades. Talvar was released on October 2, 2015, and was commercially successful.

3. Raazi
Produced under the banners of Junglee Films and Dharma Productions, Raazi is a spy thriller film. The movie stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in prominent roles. Raazi is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s 2008 novel Calling Sehmat. The novel is based on true events of an Indian RAW agent who upon her father’s request married a Pakistani military official to disclose information to India before Indo-Pak war of 1971. Raazi was one of the highest-grossing films which featured a female lead. The movie got awards for Alia’s praiseworthy performance and Meghna’s direction.

4. Chhapaak
The director is gearing up for the release of her upcoming venture starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey. Chhapaak is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Produced under the banner of Fox Stars Production, Mriga Films, KA Productions and Absolute Productions, the film will release on January 10, 2020.
