The film entered the 100 Crore club in its second week according to Box Office India. Chhichhore has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari who also directed the 2016 blockbuster Dangal. Dangal made more than ₹ 500 Crores in India. Chichhore is a drama film that made more than ₹ 34.7 Crores on the day of its release. It went on to make ₹ 66.6 Crores in the week that followed. It eventually crossed ₹ 100 Crores in the next few days.

Chhichhore is a film that revolves around the lives of seven friends who have a reunion under undesirable circumstances. The film stars actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Prateik Babbar, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, Tushar Pandey, and Saharsh Kumar Shukla amongst others. Sushant Singh Rajput delighted
Sushant Singh Rajput took to Twitter to express his delight over the ratings that the film received. The actor has quite a few films lined up for release. One of them is expected to be a biopic on the athlete Murlikant Petkar, who was a known name in the 1990s. The athlete won medals for India at Commonwealth Games in 1970 and also in the Paralympics later. This will be the actor's second biopic after M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.
