Children's Day: A list of child artists who became mainstream actors

Children's Day: Bollywood has introduced several talented child actors. Here are some of the child artists who are now among the most popular mainstream actors.

Bollywood is flourishing with talent and several skilful artists are emerging in mainstream cinema. Over the years, Bollywood has introduced several talented child actors and many of them have played memorable roles. While many of these kids continued to act in movies, some of them chose other professions once they grew up. On the occasion of children’s day, here are some of the child actors who are now mainstream actors.

Child actors who became mainstream actors:

Padmini Kolhapure

Padmini Kolhapure started her acting career as a child actor in 1975. She made her debut with Dev Anand’s Ishq Ishq Ishq. She has also appeared in movies like Dream girl (1978), Zindagi (1976), and Saajan Bina Suhagan (1978). Padmini also played the younger version of Zeenat Aman in Raj Kapoor's 1978 classic, Satyam Shivam Sundaram.

Ishaan Khatter

Brother of Shahid Kapoor and son of Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem, Ishaan Khatter also started out a child artist. He made his debut in 2005 alongside Shahid Kapoor in Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!. Later, the star, as an adult, starred in Majid Majidi's drama Beyond the Clouds (2017).

Kunal Kemmu

Kunal Kemmu made his debut in 1993 as a child artist. He appeared in Mahesh Bhatt’s Sir, released in 1993. Later, he did several blockbuster movies as a child artist which includes Raja Hindustani, Zakhm, Bhai, Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke, and Dushman. Kunal Kemmu has also been a part of the television series, Gul Gulshan Gulfaam, streamed on Doordarshan channel, from 1987.

Sana Saeed

The Student of the Year actor, Sana Saeed, is the younger Anjali from the blockbuster romantic drama, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). Post her debut as a child actor, Sana also appeared in films like Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (2000) and Badal (2000). Saeed also hosted the famous kids' program Fox Kids telecasted on Star Plus in which she played the role of Chatur Chachi.
