Dabangg 3, which is releasing on December 20 this year, marks the third installment of the Salman Khan-starrer franchise. Salman Khan will be reprising his role as the notorious cop Chulbul Pandey in the film. But Dabangg 3 is not the only cop film in Bollywood that has created buzz. There have been several blockbuster cop movies in Bollywood.

1. Sooryavanshi
The Akshay Kumar starrer will mark the first collaboration between him and director Rohit Shetty. Sooryavanshi is a much more special project for the director since all of his three policemen, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, and Akshay Kumar, will be a part of Sooryavanshi. 2. Singham & Singham 2
The Ajay Devgn-starrer franchise is also directed by Rohit Shetty. The franchise was a hit among the audience right from the first installment, which was released in 2011. In the first installment, actor Kajal Aggrawal was paired opposite Ajay Devgn whereas the second installment starred actor Kareena Kapoor Khan.

3. Ab Tak Chappan
The film which starred Nana Patekar in the lead role is based on real-life cop Daya Nayak. Ab Tak Chappan was premiered at the New York Film Festival. The film was critically acclaimed and even won several awards in 2004.

4. Mardaani
The Rani Mukherjee starrer revolved around the human trafficking circuit run by the Indian mafia. The film was considered a comeback film for actor Rani Mukherjee. The success of the film is evident, with its second installment Mardaani 2 already underway.
5. Gangaajal & Jai Gangaajal
Gangaajal starring Ajay Devgn was another cop film which was released in 2003 and was directed by Prakash Jha. Jai Gangaajal starring Priyanka Chopra was a follow of the 2003 film directed by the same director. The Ajay Devgn-starrer Gangaajal even won a National Award for Best Film on Social Issues.
