Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 faced protests from Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in Mumbai on Sunday. They protested over the 'indecent portrayal' of Sadhus in the movie.

After writing a letter to Central Board of Film Certification to withdraw censor certificate to Dabangg 3, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti held protests against  film in Mumbai on Sunday. outfit claimed that a scene in movie involving depiction of sadhus ‘hurt religious sentiments.’ group stated that y will protest across country if same scene is t removed.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti std a protest in city by holding placards, banners and raising slogans. As per a report on ANI, one of representatives of group, Arvind Pansare, said that re were protesting against an ‘indecent portrayal’ of Hindu Sadhus. He was referring to m being shown dancing, playing guitars and sporting googles in title track Hud Hud Dabangg. Pansare added that depiction will t be ‘tolerated’ since sadhus were extremely respected in Hindu religion. He asserted that y will take se protests across country, until scene was removed. 

Pansare also reacted to alleged statements of Salman Khan in controversy. actor reportedly said that sadhus were fake and that protests were a ‘publicity stunt.’ On former comment, he asked if Salman would show a Christian priest or a Muslim cleric in same way. Pansare also termed Salman’s ‘publicity stunt’ statement an 'insult' to ir religious sentiments.

outfit had written to CBFC on vember 27 to cancel censor certificate to movie. Apart from sadhus dancing, y were also unhappy about deities of Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and Lord Shankar, seen blessing Salman. y had termed Dabangg 3 a ‘denigrating film’ for ‘insult of Hindu deities’ and ‘assault on Bharatiya culture.’ outfit had called it a ‘shocking depiction’ that ‘humiliated’ and mocked foundations of Hinduism.

Previously, a controversy had erupted when track was being shot in April. A picture of a shivling being covered with a wooden plank and two men standing to left of  shivling on plank had gone viral n. team had n clarified that y had done so only to protect it from being walked over by people. 

Dabangg 3 also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar, Sudeep, Arbaaz Khan, among ors. movie is directed by Prabhudeva. It releases on December 20.
